About Society of Biocontrol Advancement

The Society for Biocontrol Advancement (SBA) was established in 1986 as Indian Society for Biocontrol Advancement (ISBA) at TNAU, Coimbatore, and later functioned as SBA from 1996 at NBAIR, Bengaluru.

SBA promotes research, awareness, and implementation of biological control of pests, pathogens, and weeds through journals, conferences, and national and international collaboration.

Aims & Objectives
  • Promotion of Biological Control: Advancing the research, development, and application of biological control methods for sustainable management of pests, pathogens, and weeds.
  • Scientific Knowledge Exchange: Providing a dynamic platform for scientists, researchers, and practitioners to share knowledge through journals, seminars, symposia, and conferences.
  • Capacity Building & Awareness: Creating awareness and strengthening technical capacity in biological control among researchers, students, farmers, and stakeholders.
  • National & International Collaboration: Fostering cooperation and partnerships with national and international institutions and societies working in biological control and allied fields.
  • Support for Research & Innovation: Encouraging innovation and excellence in biological control research to promote environmentally safe and sustainable agriculture.
